I have never thought of the Civil War in terms of pragmatism until now. Also, pragmatism can be seen in politics of today. Just a year ago the Democrats had complete control of government, and abused its power and lost the House of Representatives. I try to be pratical in my reasoing, but I also refuse to yield when my moral beliefs are taken away. Some things are worth fighting for, and the side who are usually right, wins. So is was in the Civil War, last year's politics, and so it will be in morality.
