Dear colleague, the University of Missouri is offering a Summer Biomedical Informatics Institute from May 23 – 28 in Columbia, MO. Please pass on this information to undergraduates who may be interested in this opportunity. Applications are due April 6.


Start your summer off at the University of Missouri at our Summer Biomedical Informatics Institute in Columbia, MO from May 23 – 28, 2011. This intensive, weeklong program will provide you with a foundation in bioinformatics and computational biology. You’ll acquire language and skills you can use in your lab and coursework, make connections with students with similar career interests, work closely with interdisciplinary faculty and staff, and see how informatics is being used in labs, centers, and industry.

Junior and senior undergraduates majoring in an appropriate field (e.g. life sciences, pre-medicine, biomedical engineering) are eligible to apply. Participation in summer research (MU or non-MU) is encouraged but not required. Students must commit to attend the entire institute (no early departures).

Application is required and enrollment fee is $30. Housing and all meals are included.
