ART 41, 45, 51, 52 Changes Effective August 15

July 21, 2011 -- On August 15, 2011, several route and schedule changes will be made to ART 41, 45, 51 and 52. These adjustments will allow ART to serve more residents and also keep buses running more smoothly and on time. Follow ART on Facebook and Twitter for updates. Starting August 15, 2011:

ART 41 Columbia Pike – Ballston – Court House

NEW schedule -- Effective August 15

  • Weekend service will begin earlier, end later and be more frequent
  • An additional weekday trip leaving Court House Metro at 12:15 pm will be added

ART 45 Columbia Pike – DHS -- Rosslyn

NEW ART 45 Route & Schedule -- Effective August 15 (PDF, 1.9 MB, Adobe Reader required.)

  • Route will be extended further west to serve the Columbia Heights West neighborhood along Columbia Pike, Carlin Springs Road and 8th Road South
  • Service will run through Lyon Park to the Court House Metro station before reaching Rosslyn
  • Improved access to the Department of Human Services (DHS) building will be provided for those who live near Columbia Pike west of Four Mile Run

ART 51 Ballston – Virginia Hospital Center

NEW ART 51 Route & Schedule -- Effective August 15 (PDF, 1.4 MB, Adobe Reader required.)

  • Route will be changed to run along Washington Blvd. in the Waycroft-Woodlawn neighborhood
  • Times will be adjusted to continue the 15 minute weekday rush hour service between Virginia Hospital Center and the Ballston Metro station

ART 52 Ballston – Virginia Hospital Center – East Falls Church

NEW ART 52 Route & Schedule -- Effective August 15 (PDF, 1.3 MB, Adobe Reader required.)

  • Route will be changed to run along 16th Street North in the Waycroft-Woodlawn neighborhood
  • Weekday service will start earlier at 5:50 am
  • Times will be adjusted to better meet the bell schedule at York Town High School
  • Evening rush hour departure times at East Falls Church Metro will be better staggered between ART 53 trips

Metro Town Hall Meetings
